This is one of the most beautiful public beaches I've seen. The locals call it 'Singing Beach' because the sand makes a squeaking noise when you scuff it with your feet. Never sounded much like singing to me, so I tell visitors that on dark, windy nights the silica sand moans eerily as the wind rushes over it.
